Simple theory

Hmm...today my sis told me about her experience in her sch a few months ago. Really cool, and it represents 2 true theories.

Her class was unsatisfied with something about the planning of stuff for students, and she asked her class whether they should talk to the teacher about it. Her class agreed. In order to make a point to the sch, her whole cls sat outside the office to wait for the teacher to come. Really cool right?

Well, the first theory is, unity is strength. It may be an old theory, but it is true. You see, students and people are often "scared" to suggest or to question whether a certain thing implemented by higher authorities is correct ,by themselves, such as rules, regulations or anything. Then why not suggest it with a group? Or a large group if one still feels unsafe? They can't possibly lock up everyone or punish everyone just because they pointed out something is wrong with the system?

And the thing is, when asked who suggested it, it is not beneficial to single out one of a few, then one runs or "siam" (dialect for dodging) away. A group then becomes only 1 person responsible. It is unfair because since one has supported him or her, they should stay on.

The second theory is that one should dare to question and do the act of questioning and suggesting in order for change to come about. People, when faced with some questions regarding whether something is wrong or right, often reply," I think is okay lar, is just this part is A BIT ...." . I do not understand the need to first agree with something, before pointing out what one is dissatisfied with. Be direct and say" I am not happy/dissatisfied with...". This will be more to the point.

Although readers will probably "shoot" me for encouraging the wave of " complain kings and queens", I personally feel there is no wrong for one standing up for his/her own suggestions and questions. Singaporeans have been slapped with the ugly notion of being "complain kings and queens". I feel this is happening because we only dare to question,or some say" complain" of "minor" stuff such as price of veggies being expensive or air-con not being cold enough in buildings etc. Maybe, singaporeans should be more daring to question bigger stuff, such as the overall economy, rules and regulations on a big scale, or even perhaps, politics.

Remember, only when doing the action of dissatisfaction does changes come about. One must be willing to do actions to change his/her life for the better. Here's a quote:

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. _____________Barack Obama
